Last week I was crossing Potsdamer Platz here in Berlin on my way home from work, and came across these giant billboards from Volkswagen’s latest “one thing” campaign:
“If you could kiss just one person in life, who would it be?!
As I continued across the square, I noticed this row of touch screens round the back of the billboards. Of course, I went to investigate!
It turns out that the touch screens actually allowed you to input your own message in the format of ” ____ küsst ____” (küsst = kisses), with a camera to take a photograph. Your message would then appear on a screen next to the billboards a few minutes later, and you could also send email it to someone.
Since it happened to be our wedding anniversary that day, I puckered up for the camera and sent the husband a little anniversary message (at first he thought it was spam, oops…) - though it wasn’t that little on the big screen :-)
