A new exhibition called ‘Russians & Germans. 1000 Years of Art, History & Culture’ opened at the weekend at the Neues Museum here in Berlin. I got to go to the pre-opening last week. There were many speeches, including from the President of Germany, before we got to take a sneak peek around the exhibition. Excuse the bad quality of the photo, we were sitting at the very back at the top of some steps.

The evening was rounded off by a reception at the Russian Embassy with an open bar and the most amazing buffet. We managed to try most of the dishes, thankfully they were miniature sized. The embassy itself was pretty amazing too, including a great big mural with blinking star.

Borscht soup; Buckwheat blini with caviar; Duck salad; Meatball with potato salad; Lentil salad with vodka; Stroganoff salad; Pork with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut; Chicken nuggets with mixed vegetables; Paprika goulash with dumplings; Pear quark with chocolate triangles; Almond squares; Russian vodka
